3rd July 2021
Hello Everyone, What a lovely day it has been today- the sunshine has been out and it is warming up. The gardens are shooting forth in flower and weed and folks in Toddington are busy preparing for the Open Gardens later this month. The sporting summer is in full swing with some wonderful tennis at Wimbledon and football at Wembley this week with some amazing new talent. Nigel has been enjoying cricket and as I type, England footballers are playing hard in an important game in Rome. By the time you read this email we may know if England will be planning for a semi-final appearance or out of the cup. Our Churches remain vibrant and a very cool place to be. Pop along tomorrow for one of the many services on offer. This Sunday's services:
The Upper Room online service 6pm on zoom with a theme of 'How to Pray' will have a talk by Peter Greig (of 24/7 prayer initiative). All Welcome. Please join the worship on this link: This week's service and events:
It is a delight to be meeting with baptism families again to plan baptisms. Do get in touch with me or Nigel if you would like to discuss a baptism. We are looking ahead to plan some different courses and opportunities for the new season. More information to follow. We send our huge congratulations to Chris Brown for his Hurricane flight this week. If you would like to contribute to his sponsored fundraising appeal for St Mary's Harlington and Keech Hospice in memory of Pearl, please do get in touch with us, Chris or Tricia. Thank you also to the Toddington Fundraising teams who have been baking and serving again at a Coffee Morning in a beautiful garden and the box auction at Wilkinson Hall. A celebration New Harlington, Westoning, Tingrith Benefice service was being planned for 11th July, but this is being postponed until we will be able to meet in larger numbers: post lockdown. Please stay safe. The local infection rates are rising here as they are across the country. We are so grateful for opportunities to meet and to share time together but let us all do this safely. We send you our very good wishes and look forward to seeing you all soon. God bless Linda and Nigel |
