Hello Everyone What a beautiful sunny bank holiday weekend it is this weekend which is such a welcome change after all that rain! It has been great to spend some time in the garden again without needing waders and waterproofs.. but how the grass and the plants have grown! Nigel has just returned from leading a joyful wedding at Harlington Church and how good it is to now being able to share these special occasions. This week at Harlington we look forward to next weekend with a mixture of sadness and of joy. On Friday the funeral will take place for dear Pearl Everett, legendary organist at Harlington for so many years (and before that at Woburn church). She has been a longstanding member of St Mary's church and of the community of Harlington and will be very sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Marcel and Daniel and family as they grieve. There will be limited available spaces in church on Friday, (social distance rules apply) but you will be most welcome to come to pay your respects if there is a place available. If you would like to reserve a place in church, please contact Tricia Murphy to register your interest. Sadly, it is not possible for people to gather in the churchyard on the day, but you are welcome to gather on Bury Orchard to pay your respects, should you wish to. As we prepare for Pearl's funeral, it would be very helpful please if you have any special memories of Pearl or of her time in Harlington, if you could please drop me a line or give us a call to share them. Thank you! On Saturday, there will be another special wedding to celebrate. Then later in the day, the church Nature Watch begins at 3pm. This promises to be a fascinating opportunity to become absorbed in the wonders of God's creation as Spring and new life emerges. There will be plenty of activities.
