News and information for what's going on at St Mary Magdalene Church and our sister churches in the benefice
This week, in our services, we hear again the story of the Good Samaritan - the one who helped someone in need despite cultural and religious differences. We are called to do the same today - to be a good neighbour and help those less fortunate than ourselves. Please note some of our activities have moved venue due to the Village Hall closure. Please check the bulletin to see where you should go! Enjoy the good weather but please stay hydrated and take care of yourselves.
Notice of the services for this week and next and what's going on in the benefice. There are a number of events coming up at Harlington including an art exhibition, strawberry tea at East End Farm and an opportunity to have a guided tour of Harlington Manor. So take a look and come along to support them! Please also note the change of venue for Westcaf and Sewing Bee whilst the Village Hall is being refurbished.
Here's a link to the recording of yesterday's Ordination service at which our new Assistant Curate Steve was ordained Deacon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KlF-bmDM6A&t=6308s (copy and paste this into your browser) Please do pray for him and for Father Mark as Steve embarks on this new chapter of his ministry.
This week we are holding a Benefice service at St Mary's Harlington 9:30. That's because our Reader, Steve, is being Ordained as a Deacon at St Albans Cathedral on Sunday at 2:30pm. All are welcome to attend the Cathedral service - seating is unreserved so the earlier you get there the better seat you're likely to get. Doors to the Cathedral will open circa 1:45pm. There is no parking at the Cathedral so City Centre car parks should be used. 60 MINUTES WITH GOD - This isn't on the bulletin but will be going ahead on Wednesday evening at 7:30 in St Mary Magdalene Westoning. All are welcome.
Details of our services for this week and next as well as events happening within the benefice.
Today is known as Trinity Sunday - the day where we celebrate the fact that God is one but exists as three distinct but equal persons; the Father (God the Creator); the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit (the active force of God). Our services for this week and next, together with events going on in the benefice are listed. Do please join us in our services or at one of our groups - you will be made to feel very welcome.
This week we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit to the Disciples. Our services for this week and next are shown together with events in and around the benefice. Do join us if you can!
