WORKING TOGETHER

There's only twelve, some black some white

Some are quite high but others not quite,

They get on well, they don't fall out,

They work and blend there is no doubt.

Take the topmost then the low

Together they don't come to blows,

Mix the black and white together

They fair well in any weather.

Twelve notes do an octave make

Play soft, or make the windows shake,

On keyboard, strings, or woodwind played

The musical message is not delayed.

Musicians and singers work around

The notes to make a pleasant sound,

Working together must be earned

So there! The lesson now we've learned.
